In the latest Express Entry draw that was held on January 24th, the IRCC invited 2,750 candidates to apply for permanent residence who had a score of 444 and higher. This is now the 5th draw in a row with the same number of people invited (2,750), leaving the CRS score in a narrow range.

85,000 people are expected to be selected in Express Entry system in 2018, under the Federal Skilled Worker program. The quota for 2018 is expected to be 5% higher than the previous year.

If the pattern from last year will repeat, the IRCC is expected to select a greater number of candidates at the beginning of the year, which will result in lower CRS scores. Last year saw a new CRS low of 413. Our firm expects a few draws in the coming months to see scores of 415 - 420.

With the start of a new year, it is the ideal time to begin the immigration process if you are considering a move to Canada.

The ideal candidate under Express Entry has a score of 415+. To calculate your Express Entry score, use our Express Entry CRS Calculator.
