Record Draw: New Low of 413 CRS, 3,877 ITAs Issued

The Express Entry draw broke another record- lowest CRS score of all time. 3,877 Candidates were invited to apply in the latest draw, each having a score of 413 and higher. The IRCC is continuing to execute on its immigration plan for 2017, inviting a total of 75,000 - 85,000 candidates through Express Entry this year. Each draw in 2017 has seen between 3,000 - 4,000 candidates invited to apply for permanent residence. In 2017, there are twice as many candidates being invited compared to 2016, leading to lower CRS scores. There has not been a better time to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

To calculate your Express Entry score, use our Express Entry CRS Calculator. Candidates with a score of at least 400 points are strong candidates and encouraged to apply. If you don't score enough points, you may be eligible to apply to a PNP program based on an In-Demand Occupation. Candidates who are granted a PNP nomination are awarded 600 points to add to their Express Entry score, guaranteeing to be selected to apply for PR. If you are currently not eligible to apply or not a strong candidate based on a low CRS score, you may consider studying in Canada as a pathway to PR.
