The IRCC is adhering to its immigration plan for 2017 and inviting a total of 75,000 - 85,000 candidates through Express Entry this year. Each draw in 2017 has seen at least 3,500 candidates invited to apply for permanent residence. There are twice as many candidates being invited this year compared to 2016, leading to lower CRS scores. It is an ideal time to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

If you don't score enough points, you may be eligible to apply to a PNP program based on an In-Demand Occupation. Candidates who are granted a PNP nomination are awarded 600 points to add to their Express Entry score, guaranteeing to be selected to apply for PR.
