Sam Zimmerman is an Immigration Lawyer practicing in all areas of Canadian Immigration, Citizenship, and Refugee law. From drafting complex applications to arguing before the Immigration and Refugee Board and Federal Court, Sam enjoys all areas of immigration Law. Sam has particular interest and experience in working with clients whose previous immigration applications were refused.
Sam earned his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University where he majored in English Language and Literature. Thereafter, he completed his Master of Arts degree in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory at McMaster University. Sam earned his Juris Doctor degree from Western University in London, Ontario, where he focused on Public and Human Rights Law. He also worked on the Immigration Team at Community Legal Services. Before joining Matkowsky Immigration Law as an Associate Lawyer, Sam articled at a large full-service immigration law firm in Toronto, Ontario.
Sam is driven to help his clients achieve their immigration goals, no matter the circumstances or complications. He aims to ensure that clients are well-positioned to make informed decisions. Sam views his legal practice as a privilege and is mindful of the human interest at the heart of every immigration matter. For Sam, the highlight of being a lawyer is helping clients tell their story and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Sam is fluent in English and speaks Hebrew.
